Diversity
Celebrate our differences
Diversity is a critical component of Erickson’s strategic plan. We promote it through our operational practices and celebrate it through our staff and residents. Our diversity is a source of strength and unity as we seek every opportunity to serve together.
Fostering diversity has also been cemented as an Enterprise goal. We foster philanthropy and social partnerships that promote diversity and inclusion through employee and resident involvement. We will create broader visibility and communication about activities internally (to employees and residents) and externally (to local communities). Development will be provided throughout all of our campuses and communities.
The business rationale for increasing our diversity and inclusion management capability is derived from our challenges, opportunities, and operating environment. By engaging the power of collaborative partnerships in richly diverse and inclusive environs, Erickson Retirement Communities can create dynamic senior living communities which provide unparalleled health care and services while bringing transformative solutions and sustained change to aging issues.
Being inclusive and diverse allows us to:
- Actively live and achieve our mission, vision and values
- Attract, develop, and retain more diverse talent
- Grow our base of residents, employees, volunteers, investors, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Model, facilitate, and lead the collaborative efforts needed to make changes in community conditions
- Innovate and develop better solutions leading to improved performance and results
- Enhance our reputation and brand in the fields of aging, philanthropy, and the marketplace
Celebrating diversity—which encompasses everything that makes us who we are, from our age, gender, race, and sexual orientation to our appearance, education, and physical abilities—has always been a significant part of the Erickson culture.
“Diversity is a real value; it’s the core reality of how this company is going to go into the future and reach 50,000 residents and 25,000 employees,” says Erickson Retirement Communities’ Chairman and CEO John Erickson. “A great company learns to celebrate our differences of race, culture, religion, birth region, etc. Each time we view the world around us with an expanded perspective that we learn from others, we will create better successes and outcomes.” |
